Spore Trap Testing – Detecting Airborne Mould
Spore trap testing identifies airborne fungal spores, including Stachybotrys chartarum (toxic black mould). Results are compared with outdoor samples to confirm contamination levels.
Limitations
Spore trap testing only captures a brief snapshot, can’t detect mycotoxins, and often requires specialist, time-consuming interpretation. That’s why MYKES always combines it with surface sampling, moisture detection & IAQ assessments for reliable results.
Surface & Material Sampling
When mould growth is visible or suspected, we test materials such as timber, plasterboard, carpet, and furniture. We also conduct swab testing for bacteria & E.coli (e.g., after sewage leaks or Category 3 water damage).
